Dyson will always be one of the most respected and well known brands in home cleaning due to the sense of high quality they provide, the brand loyalty that their users have and the vast range of different models. Homeowners looking for a small, convenient device for light jobs are drawn to the range of cordless Dyson stick vacuums because of the idea that they provide the same power and effective clean as uprights in a more manageable machine. The following four models are key example that highlight the pros and cons of this range in 2017

Dyson DC35 Slim Multi Floor Stick Vacuum
The best place to start here is with the DC35 because it is often seen as the low-end model within the four that will be examined, although it still has plenty of redeeming features. As the name suggests, this small stick vacuum is designed to tackle a range of surfaces and it does so by including a motorized floor tool for spot cleaning and cyclone technology for impressive suction.
Buyers appreciate the balance between lightweight, convenient model and powerful vacuum and also point out that it is quite precise in difficult areas and easy to empty out. There are, however, two key problems with using this model and they are the very short battery life of just 13 minutes and the need to constantly hold down the trigger-style power button. This trigger is meant to offer energy efficiency but most feel it is just hard work on their fingers.
Dyson DC44 Animal Digital Slim MK2
One of the key selling points with this slimline pet hair model is the notion that is has double the power of the previously mentioned model – the DC35 – and can really attack all that dirt and hair more effectively thanks to the deep drive of the bristles into the carpet and high quality suction of the mini motorized tool. In addition to this, users are also pleased with the lightweight feel of the device, its balance and its general ability to get around the nooks and crannies with ease – features that now seem to be a staple part of most Dyson stick vacuums.
This is enhanced here by the additional crevice tools. The only problem is that while it can get around pretty easily, the advertised 20 minutes of “constant high suction” just isn’t enough for most users, especially when it takes 5 hours to charge the vacuum back up again.
Dyson DC59 Animal Cordless Stick Vacuum
It is a similar story with the DC59 Animal model because a lot of the negative comments made in buyer reviews fixate on this idea that Dyson stick vacuums do not offer a very long life. Again just 20 minutes are promised with this model, which requires a little planning, but some have said that in reality it is more like 15 minutes.
In addition to this, there are complaints about how fiddly it is to empty the dust bin, which does not seem to be the case with the DC44. Despite this, most buyers are very happy with this machine and some go as far as saying that the DC59 is preferably lighter and more powerful than than the Animal Digital Slim, with its 2.1kg weight and 28AW suction power. It is also very good at catching pet hair as it retains the motorized brush and is able to really get deep into the carpets as well as underneath furniture. One of the best stick vacuums from Dyson thus far.
DC59 Motorhead Cordless Stick Vacuum
This final model being considered here today is rather similar to the Animal Cordless model above, as you may expect from it being a DC59 stick vacuum, and many users talk about its strength, light weight and maneuverability in much the same way. It offers powerful motorization, with an alleged 75% more brush bar power than the DC59 Animal, and catches the dust around skirting boards and in corners efficiently.
Again like the Animal model, dust removal and battery life are areas to be improved, as it has a short 24 minute life and small dust cup, and the annoying trigger power button comes into play again. This suggests that they really are key Dyson stick vacuum features that are seen as a necessity for the other benefits to be felt and that Dyson fans will just have to put up with them.
